4 Tips to Keep Your Valentine’s Day Fun-Filled And Free of Injury

While Valentine’s Day is meant to be a day where we enjoy time with loved ones, it can come with the possibility of injury if you’re not careful. Here are a few tips to avoid incidents and prevent a Valentine’s Day disaster:

  1. Don’t drink and drive. Whether you’re celebrating with a champagne toast or having a bottle of wine with a nice dinner out on the town, have a plan for getting home safely. Nothing ruins a night of romance like a DUI.

  2. Handle roses with extra caution. Don’t underestimate the power of a rose’s thorns to cause a pretty nasty injury. Be sure to use a vase or extra protective wrapping to prevent any cuts.

  3. Use caution when lighting candles and choose to light a lower quantity. House fires are quite frequent on Valentine’s Day because of the increased use of candles. Choose to light one or two candles and avoid lighting more than that, which will help in quickly putting out a fire if you should have an accident. Additionally, be sure candles are out of the way of children and pets.

  4. Avoid posting your getaway plans on social media before or during your stay. Prevent break-ins to your home by refraining from posting your time away until your trip is over.
