92-year old woman mauled by neighbor’s dogs

Over the weekend, a 92-year old Thurston County woman was mauled by a pack of dogs in her neighbor’s home. Gladys Alexander died Tuesday afternoon due to severe injuries sustained during the incident.

The neighbors regularly helped one another and were accustomed to going between the two homes. Unbeknownst to Alexander, the neighbor was caring for three dogs, in addition to her own.

On Sunday evening, Alexander let herself into her neighbor’s home. The dogs mauled Alexander, leaving her with broken bones, severe skull injuries, and serious blood loss.

While the dogs have been either quarantined or euthanized, there is not yet a criminal case involved with Alexander’s death.
