Successful TOS Verdict – King County

Attorneys Jim Gooding and Amy Miller received a $588,000 verdict for a client in King County following a roll-over crash on the Alaskan Way viaduct in 2011. GLP attorneys argued to the jury that the Plaintiff suffered a severe neck sprain which over the course of time developed into Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, necessitating a surgery in the future. In addition, the Plaintiff was forced to turn down a promotion at work due to her injuries.

The Defense argued that the client’s symptoms pre-dated the crash, were not symptoms associated with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, and that there was no evidence for any of the time missed from work.

The Defense asked the jury for an award of $10,000 plus a small amount for pain and suffering.

The jury returned a verdict awarding everything that the GLP attorneys asked for: past and future medical bills, past and future wage loss and past and future pain and suffering, to the penny.
