Healthcare providers who provide services to persons with traumatic injuries are entitled, under Washington law (RCW 60.44.010) to file a lien upon the recovery to which the patient is entitled from any tortfeasor and/or the insurer of such tortfeasor. A lien may be filed at any time prior to settlement and payment of the patient's claim. Graham Lundberg & Peschel has put together a packet of the forms needed by a healthcare provider to properly file a lien in Washington State. These forms are now available on a CD created by GLP.
