Healthcare providers who provide services to persons with traumatic injuries are entitled, under Washington law (RCW 60.44.010) to file a lien upon the recovery to which the patient is entitled from any tortfeasor and/or the insurer of such tortfeasor. A lien may be filed at any time prior to settlement and payment of the patient's claim.
