David K. Barrett is a Partner for the South Sound Offices of GLP Attorneys. He comes from a family of lawyers and legal scholars, which served as an early inspiration for him to continue their tradition of excellence. After completing his undergraduate degree in Law & Society at the University of California, David briefly taught school before beginning his legal studies at Valparaiso University School of Law. While in law school, David clerked for the Honorable Judge Julia Jent of the Porter County Superior Court in Valparaiso, Indiana.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Barrett relocated to the Pacific Northwest to begin his legal career in private practice with a Seattle Law Firm where he primarily served the Korean-American community in personal injury, immigration, family law, and criminal defense matters. In 2008, he accepted a position as Deputy Prosecutor and Deputy Coroner for Kittitas County. In this capacity, David maintained a very large caseload, successfully prosecuted numerous jury trials, and repeatedly argued before the Court of Appeals, where he prevailed on each occasion that he stood before the judges.
When not advocating for the injured, David cherishes time with his wife and young son, enjoys fine cuisine, reads up on current events, or studies his passions for music and classic cars.
