Case Details
Pedestrian Permanently Injured in Parking Lot at BarGraham Lundberg & Peschel represented a young man who was a pedestrian struck by a car in the parking lot of a bar in Lynnwood, Washington. The driver of the car had been in an altercation with other bar patrons and the fighting parties had been improperly ejected from the bar. The fighting continued just outside the door of the bar and escalated into the parking lot, eventually involving up to ten people. The driver of the car, in an attempt to flee the altercation, struck our client, who was an innocent bystander. A lawsuit was brought in the Snohomish County Superior Court against the driver, the car owner, and the bar under theories of negligence and premises liability for failure to follow proper security procedures when ejecting patrons. Our client sustained a primary injury to the brachial plexus of his left arm, causing permanent partial loss of use of his left arm. GLP successfully settled the pedestrian and premises liability case against the defendants for a half million dollars at mediation and just prior to trial.
